Participation in our studies

Genetic studies in epilepsy research are aiming at unravelling genes and genetic anomalies that are responsible for epilepsy. Knowing these factors will help us to understand pathophysiological mechanisms of epileptogenesis, to improve diagnostic procedures and, finally, to develop new treatment options.

To be able to perform theses studies, we depend on patients and families who are interested in participating in our research projects. Therefore, we would like to answer some of the most important questions regarding participation in genetic research.

What is our research group doing?
Why should I participate in genetic studies?
How can I participate in these studies?
What does is mean to me to participate?
What will be tested?
